Shadowrocket Download
& Purchase Guide

Shadowrocket Official Manual

Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms. It's a one-time purchase, available exclusively on the App Store. First check your account's storefront, then verify the developer, official icon, and app ID. Complete the purchase through the App Store.

This page links to the US App Store listing. Purchase availability and the currency charged depend on your account's region and what the storefront currently displays. Check the App Store page for system requirements and purchase availability.

See the App Store page for current pricing. The app purchase does not include connectivity service; you'll need your own subscription or server details.

01 / STORE

Storefront region and purchase account

First check which storefront your account uses. Then troubleshoot search or purchase issues.

Shadowrocket isn't available in the mainland China App Store. Whether it appears in the App Store depends primarily on the country or region associated with your Apple ID—not your device's location, system language, or the language shown in your browser. Opening the product page in a browser does not guarantee that your account can make a purchase. Once you open the App Store, check what the storefront for your account displays.

Check your account's country or region

Go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Authenticate if prompted, then check the region for your current account. Menu names and order may vary by system version; look under the account settings for Media & Purchases. Check the account used for media and app purchases, which may differ from the account used for other services on your device.

To find Apple's instructions for changing your region, follow the steps above to open Country/Region, then select Change Country or Region. Whether you can change regions depends on Apple's current account requirements, including your balance, subscriptions, and payment information. Review the requirements shown by the system before proceeding. This page explains where to find the setting; it can't guarantee that your account is eligible. Avoid switching regions repeatedly just to complete a single purchase.

The App Store message matters more than search results

If you can't find the app, check your account's region first instead of repeatedly trying different search terms. If the product page says it's unavailable in your region, note the full message and check your account settings. If a purchase button appears, verify the app's identity, compatibility with your device, and the amount charged. If search results include apps with similar names, don't rely on the nickname “Shadowrocket” alone to identify the app.

02 / VERIFY

Verify the official listing: check all three

Use the name to find the app; verify it by checking the developer, icon, and app ID.

A / Developer

Check the full name

Shadow Launch Technology Limited

Check the developer or seller on the product page. Compare the complete name, not just the first few words.

B / Official icon

Check the official artwork

A rocket icon with a white background and blue-purple outline.

Compare it with the official icon in this site's header. The icon is only one clue; check the other two details as well.

C / App ID

Check the app identifier

932747118

The product page URL includes id932747118, which helps distinguish Shadowrocket from apps with similar names.

Follow the same verification steps every time: confirm the app is named Shadowrocket, check the developer's full name, compare the official icon, and verify the app ID in the product page URL. Once all three match, review the price and compatibility. Finding a matching name, similar icon, or similar description isn't enough. An app in search results with a similar name is not the same purchase.

If you can't view the URL in the App Store, return to the product page link on this site and check the address in your browser before opening the store. Don't use search ranking, placement, or promotional copy as proof of identity. If the developer or app ID doesn't match the details here, stop and return to the correct product page to verify it before buying.

Verify the app's identity and device compatibility separately. After confirming you've found the right app, expand the compatibility section on the App Store page and check your device. The App Store page also has the current price and purchase availability. App updates are delivered through the App Store; check the listing for update notes rather than guessing the app's current status from a webpage title.

03 / IPHONE

iPhone download and first launch

Install the app from the App Store first, then set up your in-app connection.

What to check before and after purchase

On your iPhone, open the correct product page and confirm the purchase account, price, and compatibility before following the App Store prompts to buy. Check the App Store page for system requirements; don't assume compatibility based only on your device model. Once the purchase is complete, wait for installation to finish, then open Shadowrocket from your Home Screen. If the download appears stuck, check your network, available storage, and account alerts instead of paying again.

When you first open the app, take a moment to find Home, Config, Data, and Settings. It's normal for the app to have no connection details when newly installed. Import your own subscription or server details using the parameters provided by your service provider. A successful App Store purchase doesn't mean a server is ready to use. For import and connection steps, see the usage guide.

Understand the VPN configuration prompt

The first time you start a connection, iOS may ask permission to add a VPN configuration. This system authorization is required for the app to establish a network connection on your device. Make sure you initiated the action, then read the prompt and follow the system instructions to authorize it. This is separate from App Store payment confirmation and won't add a subscription or server for you. If you cancel, you can start the connection again and complete authorization when you're ready.

After connecting, check which server is selected in Home and which mode is active under Global Routing. Config routes traffic according to the configuration file's rules, Proxy uses the selected server, and Direct connects directly. A VPN status indicator only shows that the relevant configuration is connected; it doesn't prove that every destination is reachable. Check by trying to access the services you need.

To confirm that you purchased the app, open your App Store account and check Purchased and your purchase history. If the button still shows a price, first check the account under Media & Purchases instead of buying again. Being signed in to an account used for other services on the same device doesn't mean it was the account used to purchase the app.

04 / IPAD

iPad installation and other Apple devices

Your purchase history determines whether you can download the app; in-app details must be checked separately.

Redownload with the same account

Shadowrocket is available for both iPhone and iPad. If you bought it on iPhone, sign in with the same Apple ID on your iPad, open the App Store account and Purchased section, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. Check the App Store page for system requirements and purchase availability. If you see a price button on your iPad, first confirm that both devices use the same purchase account and that you've found the same app.

iPadOS has more screen space, so page layouts, list widths, and portrait or landscape views may differ from iPhone. Use labels such as Home, Config, Data, and Settings to find your way around instead of looking for a button in exactly the same spot as on another device. Follow the options shown on screen when adding information; a different layout doesn't mean a feature is missing.

Being able to redownload the app doesn't mean your subscription, server, or configuration file from another device is already set up. After opening the app, check the list and current selections, then import your own details. If you're using an existing configuration, check the active file, Global Routing mode, and selected server before connecting.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. If you plan to use one of these devices, open the listing in its App Store and check the current installation requirements. Universal purchase availability, system requirements, and device eligibility are all as shown on the App Store page.

Don't assume that the iPhone instructions apply in the same way on other devices. Input methods, screen layouts, and system authorization prompts may differ; follow the interface on your target device. This page focuses on purchasing and restoring purchases on iPhone and iPad. For other Apple devices, get Shadowrocket through the App Store and check the relevant listing before you buy.

05 / RESTORE

Restore on a new device or reinstall

Restore the app purchase and your connection configuration separately.

Redownload from Purchased

When you get a new device or reinstall the app, first make sure you're using the Apple ID that made the original App Store purchase. Then open App Store → Account → Purchased, search for Shadowrocket, verify the developer and app identity, and tap the redownload icon. Depending on your system version, Purchased may be under a menu such as Apps. Use the labels shown on your account page.

You won't have to pay again to redownload the same purchase with the same account. If the page shows a price instead of a redownload icon, pause and check your account, purchase history, and the app's identity. Having used the app on another device doesn't necessarily mean this account has a purchase record. Confirming which account made the purchase is more useful than repeatedly signing out and back in.

If you can't find the purchase, check these in order

First, check which account is used for Media & Purchases. Second, look for Shadowrocket in that account's purchase history. Third, check whether the Purchased list has hidden items or an active filter. Fourth, read the current App Store message about regional availability. If you're using Family Sharing, check the eligibility shown on the product page and by the system; someone else's purchase isn't automatically part of your purchase history.

You don't need to delete the app from your old device before restoring it. If the old device still works, check the subscription source, server parameters, and configuration names saved there so you have the details needed on your new device. Keep private connection information secure. Don't post screenshots or public comments containing complete credentials.

Restore your own configuration after installation

Once the app is installed again, check the existing content in Home and Config before deciding what to import. If you need to import details again, use your own valid subscription or server information; purchase history doesn't include these details. After importing, check the selected server, configuration file, and Global Routing mode. Then connect and verify access.

A complete restore has two parts: the app is reinstalled from Purchased in the App Store, and your in-app connection details have been checked and are working. If the first succeeds but the second doesn't, check your subscription status, parameters, and network instead of buying the app again. For detailed setup steps, see the official manual: from beginner to advanced.

06 / PRICE

Price and one-time purchase

Separate the app purchase from connectivity services, then confirm the amount charged.

The reference price for Shadowrocket in the US App Store is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Other storefronts may show local currencies. Check the App Store page for the final price and purchase availability. This reference price explains the purchase model; it doesn't replace the checkout page. Before paying, review the amount, currency, and account shown there.

A one-time purchase means you pay once for the app itself, with no recurring monthly app charge. You can redownload it from Purchased using the same account. App updates are provided through the App Store and can be managed in your device's update settings. Choose whether to enable automatic updates based on your preferences.

Your connectivity service and your App Store purchase are separate. Rebuying the app won't fix an expired subscription link, a change to your service period, updated server parameters, or network access issues. Check that your existing details are valid and, if needed, contact your original service provider. The app price does not cover connectivity service.

Before paying, check three things: your account can purchase from its current storefront, your device meets the compatibility requirements, and you have the details needed to connect afterward. Handle the App Store download, system authorization, and importing connection details as separate steps. Follow the usage guide after purchase; changing one setting at a time makes issues easier to identify.

Purchase & Restore FAQ

Check the specific App Store message first, then narrow the issue down to your account, device, or configuration.

Why can't I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

Shadowrocket isn't available in the mainland China App Store. The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which storefront you see; your device language does not change it. First check Settings > Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Country/Region, then open the App Store product page linked here. Availability for purchase depends on what your current storefront shows.

The App Store opens, but the download won't finish. What should I check first?

Note the App Store message, then check your network connection, available storage, purchase status, and payment information. Next, check the product page for device compatibility. If the issue is related to storefront availability or system requirements, address that first instead of repeatedly trying to purchase.

Do I have to pay again after getting a new device or reinstalling the app?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket under your App Store account's Purchased section and download it again. You won't be charged again for the same purchase. If a price still appears, check the account and purchase history. After reinstalling the app, check your own subscription, server details, and configuration.

I bought Shadowrocket for iPhone. Can I install it on iPad?

Shadowrocket is available for both iPhone and iPad. Sign in with the same Apple ID and download it again from the Purchased section of the App Store on your iPad. Check the App Store page for system requirements and purchase availability. Your purchase history and in-app configuration are separate, so check your connection details after installation.

Can I use the same App Store listing on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the listing in the App Store on your target device. Availability as a universal purchase, system requirements, and installation eligibility are all as shown on the App Store page.

The interface is in English. How do I follow the instructions?

This manual uses the app's original English interface labels: Home is where you view servers and connections, Config is for managing configuration files, Data shows traffic, and Settings contains preferences. Under Global Routing, Config, Proxy, and Direct refer to configuration-based routing, proxy routing, and direct connections. See the usage guide for step-by-step instructions.
